CHRISTINA MORALES
President
Christina Morales has carried on her family’s legacy and long tradition of driving progress in Houston’s East End by continuously endeavoring to improve and giving back to her community.

Although taking on the family business may be expected, Christina took the reins of the Felix H. Morales Funeral Home at a very young age and with minimal preparation or experience. Her parents, Joe and Lorraine Morales, died young leaving Christina and her siblings with little opportunity to obtain a higher education before entering the workforce. Felix and Angela V. Morales, Christina’s grandparents and founders of the Morales Funeral Home, successfully established themselves as the first to serve Houston’s Latino community by leading the business in Houston’s East End. Christina took on the challenge of carrying on the legacy with great pride.

After only a few years of guidance from her grandmother, Christina began serving as President of the Felix H. Morales Funeral Home in 1993. She attended the Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service where she served as the President of the Honor Society. A certified embalmer herself, Christina strives to provide caring, personalized funerals with empathy. She and her staff have continued to provide the same exceptional service to families as her grandparents did before her. She follows in the steps of her grandparents.

A true pioneer and leader, her grandmother, Angela, was the first woman in Harris County to earn a Mortician’s License and founded the Felix and Angela Morales Memorial Foundation to empower the Latino community to pursue an education and leadership positions. Christina has taken on the leadership of both the funeral home and foundation and carried out what she considers two of her greatest achievements: leading her family business to its 85th year and initiating its annual Back to School Supplies Giveaway.

Christina finds it important giving back through the Morales Foundation since its founding in 1993. Its biggest event, the annual Back to School Supplies Giveaway has given away more than 18,000 packs to Pre-K through High School students over 20 years. It is the only giveaway in Houston providing free and complete packs of schools supplies as required by HISD and an opportunity give children the much-needed tools to begin the school year.
In the spirit of volunteerism, Christina has held numerous positions for various charities and community organizations. She served as Co-Chair of Incarnate Word Academy’s annual gala and assisted with other fundraisers and events at her children’s schools. During the reconstruction of Ripley House Neighborhood Centers, Christina served on the advisory board tasked with choosing a new design for the building as President and continues to support its charitable events. She also serves as board member of the East End Foundation.

Christina lives in the East End and has two children, Anthony and Angela Krasnick. She enjoys furthering her business education, recently completing the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program, and taking cooking classes and sharing her home cooked meals with family and friends.
